Natalie A. Hess attended the University of New Mexico and obtained undergraduate degrees in Criminology and Psychology. She then attended and completed a Master of Art degree in Criminal Justice at the University of Washington. Finally, she attended New Mexico Highlands University and earned a Master of Social Work degree. With her diverse education, she has the unique skill to discern what life trajectories cause an individual to make certain choices in life through distinguishing the connection of mental processes, brain functioning and behaviors. She applies the gospel to her therapeutic practice to emphasize God’s everlasting loving kindness and compassion for His people. Her therapeutic approach lies within cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic, person-centered and solution focused therapies while underlining a foundation of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and self-control as described in Galatians 5:22, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” The goal with each and every one of her client’s is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space and start with where each woman is at in her life, as she is a strong believer in recognizing that each woman is the expert of her own life.
